• FIPRA network is a franchised organisation which brings together small highly expert groups closely co-ordinated and working together for many years. The combined experience of the FIPRA units is deep and wide – covering a wide range of sectors such as health, energy, transport, trade, public procurement, innovation, IPR, industrial and consumer policy and finance. The group can call on its experts to advise clients across the board and at very short notice
• Over time the FIPRA has assisted its clients in many types of PA programmes such as helping the set up of a government relations organisation from scratch, risk assessment and risk management projects, regulatory reviews, and advice on how to manage specific issues of importance to the firm through building coalitions.
• Particular expertise has been built up in the area of competition and consumer policy. The FIPRA group has been involved in many dozens of “cases”, closely working with the companies, their lawyers and economic advisers on the Public Policy aspects of mergers, acquisitions, state aid and other anti-trust cases.
• One of FIPRA’ main strengths is strategic advice – this entails a close understanding of the client’s needs and objectives, but also of the capacity of the client to implement the recommendations. If the advice is “right”, but cannot be implemented, it is of little value. When Public Affairs plans fail it is usually because they have not set a target which is achievable.
